Internal and management reporting

Internal and management reporting are the documents that employees put together in order to disclose relevant data to superiors so that management can make decisions and advise other senior executives. Often these reports contain proprietary information and are for internal use only.

Internal reports come from every department: marketing, customer service, IT, finance, sales and operations. They serve to keep internal stakeholders in the know of company activities and, in the case of financial reports, are used to monitor a company’s financial health and for strategic decision making.

Examples of these reports include:

  • Cash reports
  • Status reports
  • Financial reports
  • Board reports
  • Budget books
  • LoB reports
  • Variance reports
  • KPI reports
