CFOs and CIOs Differ on Perception of Cloud and Finance

Tagetik Cloud for Finance

Recent research by Saugatuck Technology shows that Finance and IT have differing perspectives on finance processes and systems. It is very interesting that IT has more trepidation about existing systems capability than Finance does. There are some very interesting results here - for example, IT is more concerned about existing systems falling short in areas like consolidation and regulatory requirements than Finance is.  What the research clearly points out is that both finance and IT need to be sure that the road to the cloud for finance systems does not ignore the need for strong financial consolidation and regulatory capabilities. That is completely in line with our concept of the cloud without compromise.

Below is a chart from the research and a blog post by Bruce Guptil at Saugatuck that highlights the differing perspectives of Finance and IT (full access to the research requires purchase). Take a look at the blog post for his assessment of this research and the impact this will have as finance and IT work together to move finance systems to the cloud.
