Mladinska Knjiga Zalozba chose Tagetik 3.0

The Slovenian publisher banks on Tagetik to support their budgeting, planning, reporting and consolidation processes

Tagetik, a global provider of Performance Management, Financial Governance and Business Intelligence software solutions, today announced that Mladinska knjiga Založba d. d. (MKZ) has selected Tagetik 3.0 to replace spreadsheet-based reporting and consolidation processes and perform more accurate, reliable budgeting and planning cycles.

After evaluating three potential solutions, MKZ chose to implement Tagetik 3.0 on account of the vendor’s specialist CPM approach, vast hands-on experience and best practices. “We did not have any system in place to support the 2010-2014 strategic plan execution and our financial processes could not meet the new requirements of data integrity, quality and transparency,” states Sava Zibler, Head of Controlling at MKZ.Our organization – established in 1945 and the controlling company of the Mladinska knjiga Group (MK Group) since 2005 – is the leading publishing company in Slovenia. Another important member of the MK Group is Mladinska Knjiga Trgovina d.d. (MKT), which is the strong leader on the retail market of book selling and stationery. The MK Group incorporates 13 companies in the area of South-Eastern Europe. As 2009 was the year of crisis also in the publishing area, especially in the South-Eastern Europe retail market, we decided to switch to a system that could simplify the planning and consolidation processes across all companies in the MK Group.

Mladinska knjiga Založba d.d. was asking for an easy-to-handle software that could also guarantee short implementation time for a cost-effective investment,” explains Slavko Despotović, Managing Director at CRMT and responsible for Tagetik in the Adriatic Region. “Tagetik 3.0 was the ideal solution to meet the customer’s expectations of process unification and higher quality in numbers as the software stores all information in a single database. Mladinska knjiga Založba d.d. will also be able to run different planning simulations/scenarios, easily compare companies’ financial results within the same business process and shorten the time spent reconciling and reporting information,” continues Despotović. “Finally, the new solution will maximize the focus on data analysis and details along with continuously monitoring strategy execution through a performance scorecard providing vital support for operational decisions.
