2 min demo: Capital Request Planning

Capital Request Planning in CCH Tagetik allows your users to make Capital Requests using a form questionnaire. By answering specific questions and selecting appropriate Criteria and Prioritization questions the system scores and ranks the request. This can then be reviewed by other colleagues who can approve and fund the project before it is added to your Budget/Planning application.

I'm going to show an example of using CCH Tagetik to provide users with an interactive Capital Request Planning allocation that guides not just the costs, but combines explanations and prioritization of criteria to facilitate objective evaluation.

To get started we're going to fill out the capital request form.Users with the necessary permission will first come in and filter based upon project category,Based on that selection they're all be given an array of questions they'll fill in basic information like name, project location as well as the fiscal year and be able to free from fill in information to questions, that are both mandatory and optional.Product costing will be done on online item basis, users simply enter the amounts and can take advantage of inserting comments withdocument attachments to add for the clarification to the costing, later should we decide to update the budgets on the fly we can take advantage of spreading.Prioritization and criteria are managed by presenting the users with grouped questions, they select the most appropriate responseand provide explanations.

But in the background the system is actually going to be tracking using scoring and points to rank these projects.Upon completion validation will ensure that all the mandatory fields are filled in for the projects that are finally submitted before approval.

This is just the first stepin a workflow.

The next step is then to pass on to a second party who's going to evaluate these projects, determine whether they're approved for funding or not.

This group will be able to see all the submissions that have been made, they can even hyperlink to the original forms to see the explanations, they'll see the complete set of expenses associated with the projects as well as the criteria and priority scoring and have the ability to assign their own scoring.

Based upon their valuations they will determine which of these projects will be funded.

Funding will be done by a third party. This group will be familiar with the various funding sources, in this case federal and local government as well as private institutions, they also will be able to evaluatethe original capital request forms and determine, based upon the explanations, which of the funding tools available are most appropriate, based on the line items and apply a certain percentage.

With all this information gathered we can now do some analysis and evaluation using a dashboarding.Using a graphically enhanced interactive environment, we are able to review these projects on a high level or on a more granular level, for example expense request Relative to funding assignment, across project categories, also funding across various funding sources and project categories or overall funding. Finally we can also array the approve projects against each other and selecting and deselecting to gain further insight.

Finally we are also ableto take advantage of CCH Tagetik's Disclosure Management application here in Word which will pull all these data that has been filled into our CCH Tagetik database onto a Word document, always the most current information, this could then be published and distributed both internally and externally.
