Abstract
Finance processes have been attracting increasing attention, a development that is driving the need for adequate tools to tackle new organizational and strategic challenges.
The IT Department on one hand and the Finance and Control Area on the other, are working to develop architectures and processes that are compliant with the regulatory requirements and business needs that characterize Corporate Performance Management (CPM). A unified view of information can facilitate this effort, laying the foundations for an approach to corporate financial management geared to maximizing value.
The evolution of CPM systems has been trending towards more complete harmonization of processes within unified solutions, thus enabling high-quality management of Budgeting, Consolidation and Reporting in a unitary technological and functional environment.
The IDC White Paper introduces this issue and outlines its features from an IT and market perspective, emphasizing in particular the “user” viewpoint, which is increasingly the focus of efforts to achieve the optimal matching of technology and business. The document traces developments in CPM tools, laying out the path towards unification within which the Tagetik CPM solution is positioned.
