The National Committee for Puccini Celebrations 2004-2008 was born after an act of the Ministry of Cultural Activities on April 8th, 2004 under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic. The objective is the enhancement, within the interest of the whole humanity, of the image and the person of Giacomo Puccini, that represents for Tuscany, Italy, Europe and the whole world a great heritage of art and culture. |
The Ministry of National Heritage and Culture wanted to seize this opportunity to promote the artistic and cultural attractions of our land. This is why it founded the National Committee for Puccini Celebrations, a cultural body that brings together over 50 representatives from public bodies, private ventures, theatre boards and scientific and cultural institutions of Puccini’s land. Our Goal is to make a unified effort to pass onto current and future generations of Puccini’s great Operas, achieving a return in terms of research, cultural awareness and economic benefits and social developments.
A summary of the Commitees mission is:
- Developing worldwide, as well as national, (glocal) a historical knowledge of the cultural and artistic Giacomo Puccini, divulging the artistic expressions and the wonders of the territories where he was born and lived.
- While respecting the autonomy of each member of the Committee, ensuring that the rediscovery of the great master and his values generate great interest and enthusiasm both in our country in the world that optimizing the use of scarce resources and classifying the initiatives of the many many members.
Projects
According to the principles and guidelines stated, in order to achieve the objectives of the mission, the Committee will focus its activities trying to stimulate, direct, coordinate, regulate and monitor the effectiveness of the initiatives and actions of individual members recognized.
- The research and in-depth study of the historical and artistic master of Giacomo Puccini
- Development of Regional Marketing of all places Puccini defining strategies-politics and promotion activities in Italy and abroad cultural tourism
- The creation of "circuits turistico-culturali" integrating into a single offer the contribution of each agency "recognized" by the Committee through the distinctive Brand (Multimedia Park-Case Pucciniane - Museums-Auditorium Theater - Places etc.).
- The internationalization of the "phenomenon" Giacomo Puccini-Italy, through recognition of Associations Pucciniane existing Abroad and the stimulation and development of new organizations with the dual aim of promoting Giacomo Puccini and Italy and implementing a coherency with Fund Raising expectations and goals
- The organization of a " Stable Network " for the Fund Raising Committee that integrates resources for the state through "merchandising"
- The design and implementation of Multimedia Tools (eg Media Museums and Sites Portal - Fictions Films and Publications high-profile etc.).
- The design and implementation of High level -Training;
- The design and production of structures that reflect the National Committee’s mission (eg Auditorium - Museums-Park Puccini, digitization of funds Puccinian itineraries, etc.).
- The Direct organization of Events and initiatives that are closely related to "recognized" Puccini’s various Components
