2008 will be Puccini’s year. A year that marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of the great maestro and son of Lucca. Tagetik will help support the initiatives being organized in honor of the composer, with the shared objective of promoting and leveraging Lucca’s image in the world.

Tagetik, which has long been active in promoting the history and culture of Tuscany, wants to honor the magnificent composer in collaboration with the National Committee for the Puccini Celebrations, established with a decree of the Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities and with the High Patronage of the President of the Republic for the purpose of celebrating, in the overall interest of humanity, the image and figure of Giacomo Puccini, who represents a vast heritage of art and culture for Tuscany, Italy, Europe and the world as a whole.

The passion for music, the creative genius that inspired the works of this artist and the strong ties with his native soil are closely bound to the philosophy of Tagetik, and Culture.

Puccini was born in Lucca from a family in which music had run for generations, he completed his studies in Milan, lived most of his life and composed many of his works in Torre del Lago, took his works to the greatest Italian theatres, from Rome

to Turin, to Naples, etc, exported his music abroad, from London to New York, passing through Paris and Buenos Aires.
